At some point in their lives, emotional eaters begin to use food and food thoughts to distract from thoughts, feelings, situations they’d rather not tolerate. Food provides a convenient and effective vehicle for achieving “mindlessness” whenever a person has difficulty tolerating how bored or angry, lonely, stressed, or overwhelmed they feel. We’ve learned that the way out of this painful behavior is not to be found in any diet plan. Relief comes when a person learns new, practical Emotional Regulation and Distress Tolerance Skills…and becomes confident and competent that he or she can better handle the thoughts, feelings, and situations that used to trigger emotional overeating and binge eating.

Participating in an Emotional Eating Seminar, by telephone, may seem like an unusual way to learn about how to conquer this frustrating problem. Actually, it’s a great way to share new research and understanding with people who wish to change old emotional or compulsive eating habits.

“5 Essential Steps to Free Yourself From Emotional Eating”

Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • Step 1-Learn where you fall on the “Emotional Eating Continuum”
  • Step 2- Find out why you switch your attention to food when you’re experiencing thoughts, feelings, and situations you’d rather not tolerate (i.e., when bored, stressed, anxious, angry, etc…)
  • Step 3-Understand the very latest research about your brain and compulsive eating and how that relates to your personal struggle with food and your body
  • Step 4- Discover what to do to stop emotional, compulsive, and binge eating. What emotional regulation skills are you missing? How will these important new skills and tools impact your day-to-day life?
  • Step 5- Learn about resources for help, including a new empowering paradigm for recovery.

Materials will be emailed to all who attend.
